Arachne WWW browser for DOS

Arachne is fullscreen graphical WWW browser which runs on DOS compatible operating systems. It supports subset of HTML/4.0 specification, including tables, frames, imagemaps, forms, and includes built-in HTTP, FTP, POP3, SMTP and other internet protocols. What makes Arachne special are very very low hardware and operating system requirements. Arachne doesn't require any complex toolkit or library to display web pages and user interface.

Arachne WWW browser for Linux

Alpha version of Arachne for Linux/SVGAlib was released in late phase of Arachne WWW browser development, sometimes around 2000. Distribution package for Linux includes binaries for i386 platform, and it is most likely to NOT run on any contemporary Linux distribution (latest kernel, latest libc). Source code was probably lost in the process, and #ifdefs in later DOS source code (including GPL-ed code) were not synchronized with later updates/patches.
